Hi all and welcome to Eat Cake Love Life.

I’m Anna. Just a short while ago I was a Miss (or Mademoiselle if you prefer) but I turned 30, got married decided to start a family all in the same year.

I started the blog with the intention of writing about trying for a baby but (luckily) I got pregnant about a week later – our first go was a good’un it seems) so it’s turned into a pregnancy / new mum blog instead.

More about Eat Cake Love Life & Anna

When this blog began I lived in West London with my husband Chuck and three other random housemates – not necessarily how I imagined my life as a married woman would start but I know I’m not alone.

Chuck  and I moved out when I got pregnant – we found a place in the ‘Nappy Valley’ of West London aka Ealing.

We both work full time. We have quite stressful jobs but it’s nothing we can’t handle. I cook from scratch most of the time and we both get a bit of exercise – he lifts weights, I go running. We like the odd beer or wine of an evening as well as the odd “binge” once in a while… it’s all very typical.

Eat Cake Love Life is somewhere for me to channel my thoughts and excess inspiration. It’s our journey through trying for a baby, pregnancy and parenting… Wish us luck!

Staying annoymousI’m keeping Eat Cake Love Life as a semi-anonymous blog and the identities of the protagonists a bit of a secret. Still I am a real person and this is really my life so if you want to speak to me, suggest anything or, I don’t know, offer me a lucrative book deal, I’m all ears. Drop me a message or leave a comment – I’ll try and get back to you as soon as time allows.
With love Anna

  1. Hi Anna,

Just had to leave a note. I can’t even remember how I found you but am SO glad I did. My husband and I have just found out we’re expecting (10 days ago… longest 10 days of my LIFE!) and are very early on as you were when you found out. And I swear reading your entries have been like reading through my own mind. I can’t tell you how comforting it is to know that someone else has had all of the same concerns and worries, and subsequently gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby! So, I just wanted to thank you for documenting this very important and personal part of your life; it has helped me (and others, I’m sure) endlessly!!!

PS You’re also the only other person I know that has heard of costochondritis (I also self-diagnosed that one with a Google search). I swear we could be the same person!

    • Hey Caitlin,

I’m so sorry I didn’t see your lovely comment until just now!! Months and months later. I hope your pregnancy is going well. You must be 5months along by now? I hope it’s not as horrible as I make my pregnancy sound 😉 It’s now been long enough that I am kidding myself that it wasn’t that bad and I could totally do it all again… Eeek!

Anyway do let me know how you’re getting on, I’d love to hear from you. Going to try and be a bit more proactive with writing again now… fingers crossed.
